What kind of classes will I have to take at VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) my first semester?

VCU requires that all students take UNIV 111 or if you placed out, UNIV 112 the first semester. You cannot place out of UNIV 112. This class is called Focused Inquiry and it replaces the English Writing requirement at most colleges. This class is taught by professors with all different backgrounds, Physics, English, Spanish, Theater... and asks the students to think critically about hard questions and use different skills necessary for the professional world, such as writing and oral presentation.
