Is it easy to get around Spain once I get there?
It's certainly not hard - you just need to take some basic things into consideration. For one thing, don't both with a rail pass unless you plan on traveling through several other countries besides Spain; Spanish train tickets, although expensive compared to other options, are cheaper then the surrounding country's prices, and it is often going to be cheaper to just buy tickets as they come. Second, don't be afraid to take the bus - it's almost always cheaper, and often just as fast, as a train is. Finally, if you are in Barca or Madrid, do take advantage of the metro system. It's easy to use, easy to pay for, works well and quickly, and is cleaner than what we Americans are typically used to!
